End of Life. Beginning of Purpose.
At Bont Rowing, we believe performance and responsibility go hand in hand.
That's why we're proud to announce our partnership with Tread Lightly, Australia's leading footwear recycling initiative, as part of our growing Old for New program.
Every year, thousands of sports shoes reach the end of their usable life and end up in landfill. Through this partnership, old rowing shoes can now be responsibly recycled, helping to reduce waste and support a more circular future for our sport.
Rather than being discarded, shoes collected through the program are processed and transformed into reusable materials that can be used in products such as flooring, anti-fatigue mats and other applications. It's a practical way to extend the life of valuable materials and reduce the environmental footprint of footwear.
For Bont Rowing, this initiative is about more than recycling.
Our shoes are designed to deliver long-term performance, comfort and durability. The next step is ensuring that when a shoe eventually reaches the end of its life, it still has a purpose.
Old for New
To support the launch of the program, rowers can bring their old rowing shoes to selected Bont Rowing events and activations for recycling through Tread Lightly.
And because sustainability should be rewarded, participants in the program may also be eligible for exclusive offers on new Bont Rowing footwear as part of our Old for New campaign.
Importantly, we accept any brand of rowing shoe, not just Bont.
Whether you're replacing a well-loved training shoe, upgrading your race-day footwear, or simply cleaning out the shed, every pair recycled helps keep footwear out of landfill and supports a more sustainable rowing community.
A Better Future for Rowing
The rowing community has always understood the value of looking after the waterways and environments where we train and compete. Through partnerships like Tread Lightly, we're taking another small step towards protecting those environments for future generations.
Because sustainability isn't about perfection.
It's about making better choices, one step at a time.
Old for New. End of Life. Beginning of Purpose.
